Like, OH MY GOD

in WTF, No Really

Tonight while watching Footloose with the Girl:

Her: He’s soooo cute! Oh My Goooooood
Me: Yea, he’s cute
Her: Like, oh my god, he’s just soooooooo cute, I love him
Her: What’s his name?
Me: Kevin Bacon
Her: Is he dead now? This movie is sooooo OLD!
Me:
It’s not that old, its from 1984! I watched it as a kid. (I have a speech I give them in these situations that go something like – how many of your friends have a Mom that is only 33? Huh? Huh? I’m not old damn it. And I’m cool. And they usually just roll their eyes).
Her: Yea, its old
Me: SMACK

Not to mention, earlier in the week she brought home a field trip permission slip for me to sign. While signing I asked if she wanted me to chaperone and she said “No!!” Pfft, whatever. Whats that about? I’m cool. I’m hip. (Shut up, yes I AM).

In other news… While grocery shopping yesterday I picked up a box of Halloween Captain Crunch - it turns the milk green. I *thought* the six-year-old would love it. I should have remembered that this is the same child who doesn’t like hot chocolate (who doesn’t like hot chocolate???). He wouldn’t eat it, he didn’t like that the milk was green. So much so that he stopped eating and wanted a cup of “white” milk, ya know the REAL stuff, Mom.

“I just don’t understand Mom, why would they make the milk green?”
“It’s Stupid and I don’t like it.”

I can feel my body strongly fighting off the flu. I feel so headachey and exhausted but so far (knock on wood) its staying away and I hoooooope it stays that way. The poor teenager is a mess. He’s been sick since Tuesday. I will have to write about the doctor visit on another day. And about how Radio Shack SUCKS ASS and I HATE THEM and will NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM EVER.

Sleep. I need sleep. I am sure you probably noticed that though ;) The six-year-old will have me up at the crack of dawn because he thinks his birthday is Christmas. Carry on.

Wow, if you’re old, I must be ancient! I was a junior in High School when Footloose came out. Yikes!

I don’t think I couldn’t stomach the green milk either. I’d have to eat the cereal dry. :)

Sending healthy, anti-flu vibes your way!

Thank you! He won’t even eat it dry.I guess he’s just disturbed by it all together at this point LoL

Green milk? I think that would give me the weebies too!

I have to be honest, I wouldn’t eat it LOL but for some reason I thought he would think it was cool. Wrong! I guess I am a nerd ;)

Ok, if I admit…. Footloose was a bit over the top, yet I found myself stuck to the TV. It made me feel all kinds of gay…… (Especailly when Kevin kicked off the wall during one of his dances)

Ohhhh boy!!!! Hope your feeling alright! Have a great weeekend!!!

LMAO at not liking the green milk, that’s hilarious. Ethan is 6 years old and he would love green milk, but he’s a strange child. Very strange, frightening sometimes. :-p

Green milk is cool! The more sleep I get, the more I need. Maybe I should just give it up altogether!

Girl, I’ve got you beat. I have a kid in college and I’m only 34. He thinks the 80′s are like the dark ages.

“Geez, Louise…pull me up off my knees…” I swear this will be stuck in my head for the rest of the bloody day.

Maybe we should start a young Mom club ;) Even though we feel old as shit lmao.
